The Herter Park Amphitheater is an outdoor venue along the Charles River in Allston, MA, a neighborhood in the City of Boston.

LOCATION
The Amphitheater is located next to the Herter Community Garden, in a secluded wooded landscape with the technical address of 1175 Soldiers Field Rd., Boston. It is at the opposite end of the large parking lot from the Artesani Splash Park & Wading Pool.
SEATING
The amphitheater has benches & stadium-type seats for 350 with two grassy knolls which can accommodate another 200 patrons on blankets or lawn chairs. Seating is general admission.
RESERVATIONS
Seating is general admission. No reservations are required.
PARKING
There is plenty of FREE parking in the large parking lot. The Amphitheater is at opposite end of the large parking lot from the Artesani Splash Park & Wading Pool.
DOORS & SHOWTIMES
Showtimes vary depending on the event. Please check the schedule page. Doors open a half-hour prior to showtime.
ADMISSION
All shows for the 2019 season are FREE. Show your appreciation for the artists/performers by donating when they pass-the-hat. Help us keep the lights on & continuing to bring great, free programming to the community by donating at our table, or through our website or Facebook page.
cancellations
Being an outdoor venue, all events are subject to weather. Please check our schedule page or social media (Facebook, Twitter or Instragram) for cancellation notices. We try to make the call whether or not to go forward by 5:00 PM, whenever possible.
Facilities
There are two portable restrooms onsite. The portable restrooms for 2020 are flushable with running water for hand-washing, but are not ADA accessible.
Accessibility & Special Needs
The Amphitheater is approximately 500 feet from the parking lot. The venue is wheelchair accessible. The portable restrooms for 2020 are flushable with running water for handwashing, but are not ADA accessible. Assisted listening devices are not available. For those parents who have children with spectrum or attention disorders, who need to vocalize or move around a bit, there is plenty of room to walk around up back & still watch the show. We also keep the house lights on in that area, too, all still within view of the stage. Feel free to bring small toys or sidewalk chalk, etc. We love wiggly kids who can’t sit still!
Age Policy
All events are open to all ages. Parents are encouraged to listen to music samples or research performers or theater/movie synopses beforehand. FoHP does our best to provide links to band/production company websites &/or Facebook pages whenever possible.
FoOd
For 2020, we are unable to sell concessions. Patrons are welcome to bring picnics & coolers, but patrons must wear masks when not eating or drinking.
Smoking
Smoking/Vaping is not permitted anywhere inside the the venue. If you are caught smoking/vaping on the premises you will be asked to leave immediately.
Conduct
Please remember, the Amphitheater is in an open area, in a public park, along a bicycle/walking trail. There will be people passing by - families with children. We ask all performers and individuals to refrain from foul language, or lewd/obscene behavior. Patrons shall use the premises in a considerate manner at all times. Conduct deemed disorderly at the sole discretion of FoHP shall be grounds for immediate expulsion from the premises.
Public Transportation
The Amphitheater is located directly along the Paul Dudley White Bike Path. However, it not directly on any other major public transportation route. The nearest bus route is the 70/70A/86 stop at Western Ave./Everett St. The venue is about a 6 minute walk from there. The 66/86 at N. Harvard St./Western Ave. is about 3/4 of a mile away. The nearest Commuter Rail stop is the Boston Landing stop, about 3/4 of a mile away. The nearest MBTA T-stops are along the Green B Line. The Warren St., Allston St., Griggs St., Harvard Ave., or Packard's Corner stops are all about equal distance - about 1.5 miles away. Walk to Brighton Ave. & then straight down Everett St. It will bring you right into the park.
